Anything Goes: Meet the Cast!

Ahoy! As you probably already know, this year’s musical at Uniontown Area High School is “Anything Goes.” To make this musical possible, we have quite a few cast members involved to make this show spectacular! I have decided to take some time and interview the entire cast and give you some insight into what will be presented this March in our auditorium for you, our audience.

Abbey Rocks is a four year senior playing the role of our lead, Reno Sweeney.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words”
Abbey- “In this year’s musical, I have the opportunity to play as Reno Sweeney. If I were to describe her in 3 words, I would pick bold, confident, and philosophical.”
Me- “What is your favorite memory from your years in musical?
Abbey- “My favorite memory throughout my four years in musical would be my freshman year when i was Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” when I took my first bow after my first show. Hearing the crowd clap and cheer is a moment you never forget.”
Me- “What musical would you choose to perform if you had the chance?”
Abbey- “If I had the chance to choose any musical to perform in, it would be ‘Grease.’ I would love the play the role of Sandy.”

Catherine Work is a four year senior playing the role of one of Reno’s angels, Purity.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Cat- “My character is Purity, I would describe her as flirty, outgoing, and sassy.”
Me- “What musical would you choose to perform if you had the chance?”
Cat- “I would love to perform in ‘Singing in the Rain'”

April Wivell is a junior playing the role of one of Reno’s angels, Chastity.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
April- “Three years. A group of seniors informed me about it my freshman year.”
Me- “Which of this year’s songs is your favorite to sing?”
April- “Anything Goes.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
April- “Chloe DeVincent.”

Stephanie Polando is a junior playing the role of one of Reno’s angels, Charity.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Steph- “My character is Charity, I would describe her as flirty, scandalous, and cute.”
Me- “In your opinion, what is this year’s most difficult dance number?”
Steph- “‘Blow Gabriel Blow’ for sure.”
Me- “What musical would you choose to perform if you had the chance?”
Steph- “Sweeney Todd.”

Kate Sharp is a four year senior playing the role of one of Reno’s angels, Virtue.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Kate- “Four years and my sister encouraged me to join.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Kate- “‘Blow Gabriel Blow’ because of all of the lifts we have to do.”
Me- “Which song is your favorite to sing?”
Kate- “‘I Get A Kick Out Of You'”

Jaiden Holmes is a four year senior playing the role of Hope Harcourt.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Jaiden- “Hope Harcourt. She’s extravagant, divided, and kind hearted.”
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Jaiden- “This is my fourth year. I joined because I love singing.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Jaiden- “De-Lovely.”

Cooper Waligura is a junior and is playing the role of Lord Evelyn Oakleigh.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Cooper- “Three years. I joined because I like to sing.”
Me- “If you could bring back one graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Cooper- “Richard Halbrook.”
Me- “Which song is your favorite to sing?”
Cooper- “‘Gypsy in Me.'”

Zach Johnson is a freshman and is playing the role of Elisha Whitney.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Zach- “One year. I joined because I like to act and perform in front of people on stage.”
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Zach- “Elisha Whitney. I would describe him as desperate, arrogant, and rich.”
Me- “Which song is your favorite to sing?”
Zach- “The Crew Song.”

Ryan Lenhart is a four year senior and is playing the role of Billy Crocker.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Ryan- “Billy Crocker.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Ryan- “All four years. I heard it was a lot of fun so I joined and I fell in love with it.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Ryan- “I would bring back Patrick Quinn or Matthew Humbert.”

Luke Patton is a four year senior and is playing the role of Moonface Martin.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Luke- “Moonface Martin. Overconfident, silly, and tough.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Luke- “Keaton Wright.”
Me- “What would your dream role be in any musical?”
Luke- “The Phantom in ‘The Phantom of the Opera.'”

Karleigh Risha is a four year senior and is playing the role of Erma.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Karleigh- “My character is Erma. I would describe her as sassy, flirty, and an airhead.”
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Karleigh- “Four years and my sisters and friends were all doing it.”
Me- “Which song is your favorite to sing?”
Karleigh- “‘Blow Gabriel Blow'”

Andrew Rider is a four year senior and is playing the role of Brother Luke.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
AJ- “Brother Luke is a gambler, somewhat religious, and sorta cocky.”
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
AJ- “All four years. I joined because my brother was a part of stage crew.”
Me- “What is your favorite musical memory?”
AJ- “I’d have to say last year when they took me and Jeffrey on stage. It was hilarious and I wasn’t expecting it.”

Jacob McNeill is a sophomore and is playing the role of Brother John.
Me- “Who is your character? Describe them in three words.”
Jacob- “Brother John is religious, jittery, and a slight alcoholic.”
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Jacob- “One year and I like to act.”
Me- “What musical would you perform in if you had the chance?”
Jacob- “Probably ‘Fiddler on the Roof'”

Matthew Hostetler is a senior and is playing the role of the captain.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Matt- “One year. I joined because I wanted to try something new.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Matt- “Vanessa Brangard.”
Me- “Which song is your favorite to sing?”
Matt- “‘Public Enemy Number One'”

Abby Spiker is a senior and is playing the role of Purser.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Abby- “This is my first year doing musical. I always wanted to do it but track and field always got in the way.”
Me- “What musical would you perform in if you had the chance?”
Abby- “I would like to do ‘Mulan'”

Alyssa Holt is a junior and is playing the role of a sailor/featured dancer/Fred.
Me- “Who was your favorite role in your years in musical?”
Alyssa- “Mendel last year in ‘Fiddler on the Roof”
Me- “What musical would you perform in if you had the chance?”
Alyssa- “‘In the Heights.'”
Me- “What would your dream role be in any musical?”
Alyssa- “Nina or Vanessa from ‘In the Heights'”

Alayna Kopacka is a junior and is playing the role of a sailor/featured dancer/photographer.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Alayna- “This is my second year in musical and I did it because I’ve done musicals before and I loved doing them.”
Me- “In your opinion, what is the most difficult dance number?”
Alayna- “‘Anything Goes'”

Hannah Walkos is a senior and is playing the role of a sailor/featured dancer/reporter.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Hannah- “Three years. I decided to join because it looked fun and I liked it. Also because my sister did it.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Hannah- “‘Anything Goes’ because it’s so high enerfy and it takes up a lot of stamina.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Hannah- “I would bring back Matthew Humbert.”

Emilee Friend is a four year senior and is the playing the role of F.B.I. agent number one.
Me- “Which song is your favorite song to sing?”
Emilee- “‘Blow Gabriel Blow'”
Me- “Which musical would you perform if you had the chance?”
Emilee- “‘Addams Family’ or ‘Hamilton'”
Me- “What is your dream role for any musical?”
Emilee- “Velma Kelly from ‘Chicago'”

Caleb Evans is a senior and is playing the role of F.B.I. agent number 2.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Caleb- “One year and I joined because Luke Patton encouraged me to.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Caleb- “‘Blow Gabriel Blow'”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Caleb- “Richard Halbrook.”

Brianna Harvey is a four year senior and is playing the role of a sailorette.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Brianna- “Five years and my sister encouraged me to do it.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Brianna- “‘Anything Goes'”
Me- “If you could bring back one graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Brianna- “Ariel Ellington.”

Marissa Harvey is a four year senior and is playing the role of a sailorette.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Marissa- “Five years, I joined because my sisters did it before me.”
Me- “In your opinion, which is the most difficult dance number?”
Marissa- “‘Anything Goes'”
Me- “What musical would you perform in if you had the chance?”
Marissa- “‘Hamilton'”

Nina Jeffries is a junior and is playing the role of a sailor/featured dancer.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Nina- “Three years doing musical. When I was little, my parents brought me to see ‘High School Musical’ and I loved it. That’s when I decided I wanted to do musical.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Nina- “I would bring back Richard Halbrook. I actually cried when he left.”
Me- “What musical would you perform in if you had the chance?”
Nina- “Either ‘Hairspray,’ ‘Hamilton,’ or ‘Mamma Mia!'”

Hailey Popson is a senior and is playing the part of a sailor/featured dancer.
Me- How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Hailey- “One year. I decided to join because I love dancing and I have quite a few friends that are also involved.”
Me- “In your opinion, what is the most difficult dance number?”
Hailey- “‘Buddie Beware’ for sure due to all of the lifts.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Hailey- “I would bring back Patrick Quinn.”

Liberty Bryner is a sophomore and is a part of the ensemble.
Me- “How many years have you done musical? What made you decide to join?”
Libby- “One year and I’ve always wanted to do it.”
Me- “If you could bring back any graduated cast member, who would it be?”
Libby- “Richard Halbrook”

Alexandra Cardenas is a freshman and is a part of the ensemble.

Alex- “One year and I just liked it so I joined.”

Jocelyn Jeffreys is a sophomore and is a part of the ensemble.
