Artist of the Week

This week I am going to write about a band who have exploded and have been arguably one of the most popular bands in their genre. Since their first album in 2010, they have captured the interests of thousands and have not yet seen one dull moment. Get ready to sit back and relax while you read this article on Black Veil Brides.

Their first album, We Stitch These Wounds, was released on July 20, 2010 and sold over 10,000 copies in the first week, topping several charts and even reaching the number 1 slot on Billboard’s Independent chart. Black Veil Brides created their own popularity by making their own self-funded videos. They were then signed over to Lava Records. Black Veil Brides’ second album, Set the World on Fire, was then released almost a year later on June 14, 2o11. The title from Set the World on Fire was originally going to be used in the movie Scream 4, but that plan did not work out. On May 23rd though, the band learned that the song was going to be featured in the movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

I could sit here and write multiple paragraphs about this band, but that would not do them justice. This band has had the pleasure of touring with many famous bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria and many other names. They reintroduced the stage persona’s of KISS and Mötley Crüe. They have had their songs in both Transformers 3, and The Avengers. They have won countless amounts of awards and stolen the hearts of hundreds of thousands. If you take anything about this band from this article though it would be the following statement.

Black Veil Brides’ lyrics have dealt with topics aimed at people who feel like outcasts in society. Their bass player, Ashley, said this in an interview about the message the band sends to its listeners: “We carry a message of believing in yourself and letting no one tell you otherwise. We stand up for the underdog and the disenfranchised. Anything strange, odd, or unique… we embrace that. So basically standing up for yourself; have fun and live your life how you choose. You only have one life, make the most of it”

That’s all I can say about this band. Anything I write would simply not do this band’s accomplishments justice. I hope you guys read this long article to its entirety, and hopefully someone will continue this segment. So long and goodnight.
