October 25th, was a brisk but important day for the varsity runners left to compete in the WPIAL championship meet held at California University last Thursday afternoon. This meet would be the last to finalize on who would go on to the state championships held in Shippensburg, PA .
Out of 30 schools in AA, our seven girls placed 13th and the boys placed fifth in the WPIAL. Sam Killinger placed 23rd overall and now is pumped and ready to go for he qualified for the state championships in Hershey next week. Although Sam is the only one moving forward, the rest of the runners ended their season on a high note by beating their personal records and making the coaches proud once again.
Thank you to the coaches, trainers, and volunteers. A special thank you to the parents taking time out their days to come and support for their kids. A great shout out to the boosters with helping expenses so running shoes at the beginning of the season could be purchased, to a wonderful banquet for the end of the season. It is very much appreciated and I have had a great two years running for the Uniontown Red Raiders. I am Esme Bisbee tuning out for the last time for the 2018 cross country season.
