Fayette County Heart Walk

The Fayette County Heart Walk is a walk to help raise funds for Heart Disease and stroke. You’re probably wondering how you can help and where to start? Well first things first, this event is taking place on September 14. It will take place at Penn State Eberly Campus at 10:00 am, however check in is at 9:00 am. If you have any more questions you could speak with Tricia Desvarro at tricia.desvarro@heart.org.

For this event they’re trying to raise $65,000; right now they’re at approximately $14,144. You can get a free Heart Walk t-shirt if you raise a minimum of $100. Plus there’s no fee to walk, you just do it out of kindness of your heart .

Now for those who really don’t know what Heart Disease or Strokes are, here’s some information. Heart Disease is narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack. There are many different types of Heart Disease’s out there, some can be cured, while other’s can’t. A Stroke is a sudden interruption in the blood supply of the brain. While there’s not a’lot of option’s to help cure or prevent this, you can go on the walk at the Eberly Campus and make the first step.
