On Friday, December 9, 2016, the FBLA regional competition was held in Washington, Pennsylvania. At FBLA, (Future Business Leaders of America) there is a plethora of categories that students can compete in that will prepare them for their future. Members learn how to engage in business enterprise, how to direct the affairs of a group, and how to compete honorably in competitive events. These events will be beneficial to students because they help them become better people, in and out of the classroom. Here at Uniontown Area High School we have a handful of students who attended the FBLA regional competition and competed under many different events. While the students where in their events, they competed against many other schools. For instance, Albert Gallatin, Frazier, and Bentworth where also in attendance.
Students who go to Uniontown High School that competed were:
- Giovani Marian (Graphic Design)
- Abigail Marinucci (Graphic Design)
- Maeve Carei (Graphic Design)
- Diamond Lovett (Business Ethics)
- Sha’Maurie Mosley (Business Ethics)
- Olivia Lowther (Impromptu Speaking)
- Nicole Sova (Job Interview)
The team of Giovani Marian, Abigail Marinucci, and Maeve Carei took first place in Graphic Design. The team of Diamond Lovett and Sha’Maurie Mosley took first in Business Ethics. And both Olivia Lowther and Nicole Sova took fourth place in their events. These students will be attending the state competition in Hershey Pennsylvania from April 2nd-April 5th. Make sure you congratulate them when you see them!
