Future Business Leaders of America

Future Business Leaders of America is an educational association of student members preparing for careers in business or who are just simply interested in learning more about the free enterprise system. FBLA helps students develop leadership abilities, and prepare for entry into, and advancement within, a business or business-related occupation. Members learn how to engage in business enterprise, how to direct the affairs of a group, and how to compete honorably in competitive events. These activities help prepare students to be better employees and better citizens.

Each year the state leadership conference is held in Hershey, PA bringing together students from dozens of districts for a three day event .  These include an opening ceremony, workshops, career fair, competitive events, and an awards presentation.  This year the event was held on April 8-11, 2018.  The students representing UHS were Jayden Thomas & Abigail Sakaguchi.  They both attended the College Life and Preparedness workshop where Mr. Curtis Voelker described the process of balancing students and personal life as a college student.  Participants also raised money for the Alzheimers Association-Fundraiser which totaled over $54,000.
