When you think of winter, what comes to mind? When I think of winter I think of skiing or snowboarding down snowy slopes. Some of you may think of sled riding, snow tubing or hot chocolate. You can find a hill in your backyard to sled ride down or you can go to a place like Seven Springs to snowboard down slopes. I’m going to inform you on some good go-to places for winter activities.
When I go skiing or snowboarding, Seven Springs is a good place to go. The school ski club is actually going there on a trip this coming Saturday. They have 33 slopes and trails, 7 terrain parks and 10 lifts to get you from place to place. Right now they only have 4 lifts open and 14 trails open, due to little snowfall, not everything is open. They have snow tubing with 11 lanes going down a hill, then a carpet that you stand on will take you back to the top of the hill. They also serve Hot Chocolate and have a good bakery/creamery.
Our school has a ski club and they go to Seven Springs, Hidden Valley and Wisp in West Virginia. They go on Fridays and Saturdays and leave around 3:00 p.m. each time. The students get discounts on lift passes and rental fees. Students can have fun with their friends on the slopes and get good deals on prices. Dates for this years scheduled trips are:
- Saturday, January 11th, 2020 – Seven Springs – 3:00 pm
- Friday, January 24th, 2020 – Hidden Valley – 3:30 pm
- Friday, January 31st, 2020 – Wisp – 4:00 pm [4-H Day]
