Local Jobs Raising Wages

After the past few months, businesses have been struggling to find people to work. This has been a result of fear of getting Covid, lack of child care and enhanced unemployment benefits. Businesses are struggling to keep their heads above water during this time.

In a recent article, Cedar Point amusement park has raised their starting wages to $20.00 and hour in hope to attract more workers. The need for employees is so high they actually have to close the park on certain days in June because they don’t have enough workers to keep the park up and running. Sandcastle Water Park in Pittsburgh has indicated they also are in need of employees to work this summer.

The lack of workers is really hurting a lot of businesses in our area. It would be sad to see them close because there’s nothing else they can do to keep their business above water.
