An estimated 11,300 newborn babies die each year in the United States on the day they are born. This is something no parent should have to go through in life. A rare few who have gone through this should use it as a way to inspire others. That’s exactly what a local couple has done over the past three years. William & Nicole Dice had a very beautiful son named Daniel John Dice. He was born with several traits of Type II Thanatophoric Dysplasia. Daniel lived only 89 minutes before being laid to rest in November of 2015.
Each year the couple organizes a calendar party to help them raise money for there nonprofit, Loving Daniel. Loving Daniel was made in remembrance of their baby boy who passed away shortly after birth. The money raised from this event is used to purchase Cuddle Cots (cooling beds) for hospitals. This way families have more time when their baby passes away. This years calendar party will be held on October 14th at North Union VFW from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. Tickets are $12 and include a full catered lunch.
The organization also gives back to the community in a few ways. For instance, each year there is a Scholarship given to a Student-Athlete who applies with an essay stating how sports positively impacted their life. They also award a Disney Prize Package for a lucky winner on Thanksgiving Day. The package includes 5 Disney Park Entrance Passes, $200 Disney gift cards, and $ 500 cash. To win you must purchase a ticket for $10 and each ticket has four chances to win. For Tickets to the calendar party or and Disney prize, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
