I job shadowed a veterinarian
Please explain what you did for your project?
For my project I would travel to Washington, PA. to go to the clinic. When I wasn’t at the clinic I would be on farm calls with either Dr. Pat or Kelly Balzer. I would transport animals from surgery to the post operating area, sterilize surgical instruments, and clean wounds.
What did you learn from this experience?
From this experience I learned that you must be very patient and observant. Being thorough when performing examinations. To be a veterinarian you need to be dedicated to your job.
What is your advice to underclassmen regarding their project?
My advice to underclassmen regarding their project is take it serious. Have your 100 hours done before you begin your senior year. Schedule it early in September to get it done. Relax, it’s not as bad as you think.
What are your plans after graduation.
After I graduate I plan to attend Penn State University. I’m either going for ultrasound or nursing.
