A year ago the pandemic struck and sports shut down and things changed. Baseball, Basketball, and even hockey. Last year during this time the MLB would have spring training in Florida. But they didn’t obviously because of the pandemic and the cases rising at a rapid pace. Their season was also cut short to 60 games instead of 162. It was different and definitely not the same. No fans were at the games and even the playoff games. But this year could be better than last year.
The MLB plans on starting the season right on time which is in April. They’ll play the usual amount of games which is 162. There were rumors that they were going to cut it short again but they decided not to. The Los Angles Dodgers won the 2020 World Series beating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Game 6. They’ll be a huge competitor this season as the defending champions. Other teams that will be big competitors are the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, and others as well.
Hopefully at some point in the season there could be limited capacity for teams. The games definitely aren’t the same without the fans. It definitely was not the same during the playoffs and World Series. It was a rough year for sports across the world. Some teams didn’t get to play a season and they had everything cancelled. But there is hope for this year to be better with the vaccines coming around.
