Movie Review: Zombieland Double Tap

After a ten year hiatus, the crew is back for the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2009 zombie film. The cast of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. Sequels have a tendency to drop off from the original, so how’d this one do? Let’s find out in this article.

We start off the film in the same fashion we left off the original with, the gangs looking for a home. To their fortune they find that, they find a temporary home in the White House of all places before things get rocky. Little Rock (Played by Abigail Breslin) disappears with a boy in an attempt to gain some control over her life and the remaining protagonists set out to find her in an attempt to reunite the dysfunctional family formed from disaster.

Along the way new characters are introduced but their screen time is very limited and sometimes underwhelming, as evident in the first Zombieland as Bill Murray made a sub 10 minute cameo in the film. The film relies heavily on corny jokes and references to other films and series in the genre and even takes some shots at the prior film in the franchise. All and all I’d say the film isn’t a polished masterpiece and that works perfectly, I’d say it’s a must watch film for various types of movie goers.
