The New York Yankees have been losing many players due to injuries. Their offense has less power hitters as the Yankees draw further in May. On May 20, 3rd baseman Miguel Andujar had a labrum tear in his right shoulder. He is receiving surgery on his shoulder and will return to the lineup in 2020.
Right handed pitcher Jake Barrett had elbow discomfort and was set on the DL on May 25. His time of return is still to be determined. Another right handed pitcher Dellan Betances on May 27 had a right shoulder impingement, and will return soon to pitch again. He will return to the lineup in June.
Yankees star short stop, Didi Gregorius received Tommy John surgery in his right elbow on May 28. He is recovering fast and practicing, he will return to the lineup on June 4. Yankees biggest slugger and star outfielder, Aaron Judge had a significant strain on his left oblique on May 20 and will be out for a while. His time of return is still to be determined. Yankees have been fighting hard to win even without their star players.
