Stuart “Stu” Burrell Lantz is a retired American basketball player and he is now a color commentator for the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA. He was born on July 13, in Uniontown Pennsylvania and attended Uniontown Area High School. Stu married Linda and has three kids with her: Todd, Kristin, and Shane.
Stu’s NBA career lasted from 1968-1975 and began when he was drafted by the San Diego Rockets in the 3rd round, 1st pick, 23rd overall in the 1968 NBA Draft. Stu played for five NBA teams: San Diego Rockets, Huston Rockets, Detroit Pistons, New Orleans Jazz, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Stu has scored 6,782 points throughout his entire career shooting a field goal percentage of .435 at the shooting guard and point guard positions.
After playing in the NBA Stu went and did a broadcasting career. Serving as a commentator for the San Diego Clippers, San Diego State University, CBS and the NBA Radio Network. He then became a broadcaster for the Lakers and has served 25 years with them and is on his 9th season working television exclusively as color commentator.
