Recently, we have interviewed students that are participating in our schools annual One Acts play. We asked senior Cooper Waligura (C), junior Maddie Velosky (M), sophmore Gracie Guthrie (G), and freshman Malcolm Patton (P). Lets see how they responded.
Question 1: What do you enjoy most about this years One Act play?
C: I enjoy how many new faces we got this year, and how stupidly funny these plays are.
M: I enjoy connecting with the cast and seeing the play come to life.
G: I enjoy that One Acts is an opportunity to express myself and escape reality.
P: I enjoy getting to take part in something that I have watched from the outside for years.
Question 2: Are you happy with the part(s) you received?
C: I am a rat, turtle, and a caterpillar. How could I not be happy?
M: I was nervous for memorizing the lines but I believe it has given me confidence?
G: I was disappointed at first but then I realized that it’s only my first year and I got what I deserved.
P: I am happy.
Question 3: What inspired you to participate in One Acts?
C: I was a small eighth grader and I saw “Paper or Plastic” and I’ve been hooked ever since.
M: I thought it would be a good opportunity to spend time with my friends.
G: I dance and I’ve seen several plays which made me feel inspired. I always come out of watching musicals feeling good so I thought I’d try.
P: My brother participated in them for all four years of his high school career, I got watch them every years, but now I can actually be a part of them.
Question 4: What will you take away from this year’s play?
C: That it was a great one and that I will miss everyone next year.
M: That I can do more than I thought.
G:I learned that I need to stop overloading my schedule but also that I am capable of more than I expected.
P: To quote several people, “It’s comedy- there’s no such thing as over the top.”
