November 10th, 2017, Taylor Swift dropped her sixth studio album, Reputation. Reputation is different than her other albums, which once used to be categorized as country music. Taylor Swift changed genres from country to pop when she released her fifth studio album 1989. Reputation focuses on a different style than Taylor is used to. Chicago Tribune described the album as “another shift, this time into electronic pop.” The album has 15 songs total and 7 of them were made into singles.
The album was inspired after her infamous feud with famous rapper Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian which represents how Swift’s reputation had gotten ruined. The thirteenth track on the album “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” is a dig at the famous rapper.
Despite the drama surrounding this album, Taylor Swift rose above it all and made many new records from her success of this album. Her album was No.1 on the US Billboard 200. Reputation sold 2 million copies in the first week of its release becoming 2017’s biggest-selling album in the US. Reputation was also ranked the No.1 album of 2018 on the Billboard 200.
Taylor Swift also took Reputation and made it into a Stadium Tour from May, 8th, 2018 until the last show in November 21st, 2018. She performed 53 concerts and made approximately $345.7 million. Every single one of her concerts were sold out. Taylor Swift is known for surprising fans with special guests on stage, as she did that when she went on tour with her 1989 album. She impressed the fans once again as she brought special guests on stage for her Reputation Tour as well. Guests included Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Robbie Williams, Hayley Kiyoko, Bryan Adams, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Maren Morris, and Sugarland.
