The Race To The Top

It was quite a  turnout for the Uniontown Cross Country  Team this past Saturday at California University Of Pennsylvania! The girls finished third in the AA and the boys secured a stunning first place in the AA out of over 20 teams!

Not only did the team work together to take home a win, there were a few that placed individually and received awards.   Senior winners were Riley Gilleland, Sam Killinger, and Ben Witt. Logan Maust, Junior, and Freshmen Ryleigh Kelly, and Dalton Grimes. The raiders also were represented by the Jr. High teams. Both of which had top five finishes!

Besides leaving with the whole team satisfied, Coach Girod was also all smiles. ” The effort of the team was very good even though the heat was very difficult. “The team is working hard on improving their pace as a pack.” The gap time is the distance between the first and fifth runner. The goal for every meet is to lower that time to get a better result.

All in all, the Uniontown Red Raiders made history once again this year at the 47th annual Cal U/Marty Uher Invitational. Great job to all!
