The Swimming Girls Get a Relay to WPIALs

Riley Levander, Maeve Carei, Valerie Grimes, and Morgan Metts have done it. They finally qualified in the 200 freestyle relay on February 16th at the Section Invitational.  It would have been the last time this team, which includes three seniors, would swim the relay together.  They pulled through and swam as hard as they could. They swam a 1:51 and the Girls AA qualifying time is 1:52.00 which allows the team to swim again at WPIALs. Sadly, none of the girls qualified in their individual events, however Maeve came close  in the 50 Freestyle and Valerie in the 200 individual medley. The girls will be swimming the 200 freestyle relay at the University of Pittsburgh’s pool on March 1st and 2nd against many other schools in Western Pennsylvania. The group is working to get their time down to a 1:50 or maybe even a 1:49 before they compete at WPIALs.
