The Uniontown Track and Field team competed at California University invitational on Friday April 15th. Coach Piccolomini and Coach Girod were pleased with how the students performed. The cold finally broke and the team did a magnificent job on that nice sunny day.
The girls track team did an outstanding job with their performance. Placing first in the girls 4×800 meter run was Uniontown with the team of Brooke Bertovich, Madison Bertovich, Macy Mills, and Selena DeLara, good job girls. For the start of the sprinting events were the 100 meter hurdles which took second place from Selena Francis and third place from Mia Turcic. Also taking first place was the 100 meter dash from Delicia Francis and Third place from Rhian Ray. For the placing of the 1600 meter run Selena DeLara had placed third. In the 400 meter dash which also placed first from Mylaysia Ellis, and Forth place from Maeve Carei. For the 4×100 meter relay of Cajmere Winfrey, Rhian Ray, Abigail Marinucci, and Delicia Francis these girls finished first. Now for the 300 meter hurdles which was a close ending, Selena Francis place second and Mia Turcic placed forth. Girls 800 meter run finished first from Alexis Wivell and third place from Brooke Bertovich. For the last sprinting event Mylaysia Ellis placed first and Rhian Ray placed second for the 200 meter dash. Last race of the day with a tough ending but Uniontown came is first for the 4×400 with Abigail Marinucci, Rhian Ray, Maeve Carei, and Mylaysia Ellis. Congratulations to everyone who competed.
Placing first in the boys 4×800 meter run was Uniontown with the team of Kenneth Powell, Caleb Hershey, Evan Klatt, and Caleb Patton, good job boys. For the start of the sprinting events were the 100 meter hurdles which took forth place from Nick Burgess. The boys 100 meter dash placed from Malaky Howard. For the placing of the 1600 meter run Cameron Kuteck took first place, and Evan Klatt took third. In the 400 meter dash Jack Killinger took third place and Jon Desvarro took forth. For the 4×100 meter relay of Zayed Ennab, John Grimplin, Khaili Davis, and Malaky Howard they took forth overall. Now for the 300 meter hurdles J’mier Hollingworth placed first and Amadeus Marinucci placed third. Boys 800 meter run finished forth from Caleb Hershey. Caleb Hershey also ran the 3200 meter run and finished first overall great job. Lastly congratulations to all the boys who ran.
