My sister Julie Thorpe graduated from Uniontown Area High School in 2014. She was a member of the National Honors Society and The French Club. Throughout high school she worked as a waitress at Curt’s Family Restaurant. After she graduated in 2014, she attended Penn State Fayette’s four year nursing program.
During her senior year in college she quit her job as a waitress at Curt’s and started working at Highlands Hospital as an aid. She also had clinical’s at Highlands Hospital for college at the time she started working there. Julie said when she first started working there it was challenging at first because she got to work more with patients at clinical’s than she did when she was working there.
She graduated from Penn State Fayette for nursing in May 2018. After graduation she studied for the NCLEX-RN, which is the state boards test that determines if you are ready get your nursing licenses. She then took her nursing boards in July 2018, and passed. Julie started her first nursing job at Ruby memorial Hospital on the neurology floor. After working there for a couple months she quit working at Ruby and took a job at Fresenius Kidney Care in Fairmont West Virginia where she now and continues to work.
