My aunt, Jessie Geary, was a former student here at uniontown high school. She graduated in 2012. During high school she was involved in multiple activities. She was a cheerleader, a member of the swim team, national honors society, musical and one acts. She was a captain of the cheer leading squad. She dove and swam the 50 free on the swim team. She participated in the musical, High School Musical, as one of the cheerleaders.
After she graduated high school she went to Waynesburg University to study nursing. After graduating from college she got a job at Ruby Hospital. After being at Ruby she got a better job offer at Children’s Hospital and now works there. Her job isn’t always easy, sometimes she goes through things and sees things she doesn’t want to, but she keeps going. She is a very hard worker, and she is always there for patients. She is the mother, daughter, and sister everybody would want. She is the friend everybody deserves and I don’t know a better person.
Her tips to current students would have to be to never give up. Never give up on yourself, friends, family, and to never give up on life. Life isn’t always fun and games, but if you keep your head held high you can do anything you put your mind too, no matter how hard it gets. When life gets tough keep going. Jessie had failed at many things in life, she has been turned down for many opportunities, but all those led into better things for her because she never gave up, and kept pushing herself to achieve better opportunities. Just like people say once a door closes another on opens, and I believe that’s what happened with my aunt. No matter what just be strong an never give up on what you want to become.
