A few UHS competitive cheerleaders traveled to Disney for the D1 and D2 Summit competitions.
Bella Dolfi attended the D1 Summit and cheers for Rain Athletics. Her team was Brellas, it was an international U17 level 4 team. They competed against 40 teams from around the world. When I asked Bella about the Summit she responded, “Our team quote was ‘Let’s do this thing’ and we did that thing. We had the highest score at the international summit.” I also asked Bella about how she felt about winning and she said, ” Winning Summit was something I never thought I’d do. It didn’t feel real. I know my little nine year old self is so proud that she finally won her ring.”
Alexis Kudyba, Ryelee Younkin, Zoey Jenkins, and Kaylee Mutnasky cheer at Rock N Rolls and went to the D2 Summit. Alexis was on revenge, a junior medium level two team. They missed making it onto finals by .4 of a point. They placed 13th out of 58 teams. Ryelee and Kaylee were on on Revlot, a senior small level four team. They placed 14th out of 43 teams in the finals. All of these girls are on Royalty, a senior medium level three team. Royalty made it onto the finals and placed in the top three. This is the highest that Rock N Rolls has ever placed at the Summit. I asked Ryelee how she felt about placing top three and she said, ” That was a big victory for us. Placing third with all of my teammates is a memory I will never forget and will always cherish. We all worked so hard for it and I am so proud of each and every one of us”.
All of these girls were very successful and will continue to be successful. They are proof that believing in yourself and putting hard work anything is possible!
