Artist of the Week: Evelyn Kitelinger

Evelyn (Evie) Kitelinger is a junior and part of the art and drama club.

Q: How would you describe your style of art? A: It leans more to the cartoony side of semi-realism, I’d say.

Q: What is your favorite media/material to work with? A: Not particularly, but I have had numerous artists who have influenced where my art is today.

Q: If you could meet any artist dead or alive who would you meet and why? A: Leonardo DaVinci! He was a whack job and a half, and the fact that we’re *still* figuring out his art and his writing now means so much to me. Quite the mystery man.

Q: What inspires your art? A: Primarily things that are taking place in my life. It might be cliche to say my art reflects my mental state, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t.

Q: Do you plan on having art as a career? A: I’m not entirely sure. I know I want it to be a part of my life in the future, but I don’t know if I want it as a career.
