Artist Of The Week: Michael Vinsick

Q: What art form are you most passionate about?
A: “I’m most passionate about painting, drawing, and any 2D art form.”

Q: What do you use as your inspiration?
|A: “I often use nature and my health as inspiration. I love the natural world because it gives you an inner feeling of peace that you never knew you had.”

Q: What made you want to pursue 2D Art?
A: “Since 6th grade, I have been in many different art classes and I’ve learned many different skills as a result. I discovered that 2D art forms are what intrigues me most.”

Q: How has UHS helped you to pursue and advance your skills?
A: “I have been in Ms. Gartley’s Ceramics and Art 2D classes. I have improved my current skill level and advanced my clay making abilities.”

Q: Do you have an artist that you are inspired by?
A: “I’m inspired by Bob Ross the most. He makes very detailed landscapes and makes it look easy to do. When I watch his tutorials, I get the inner peace feeling, the same feeling when I’m in nature.”

Q: Do you have any works that you are proud of?
A: “I’m very proud of my celebrity sketches and portraits. My favorites are my Markiplier sketch and Finneas portrait.”

Q: Do you have any advice for future artists?
A: “Don’t be afraid to go deep into the world of art. Your not going to be Picasso overnight, so take those baby steps toward improvement.”
