Benjamin Wilson from Red Raider to Nittany Lion

Senior Ashlyn Barcheck interviews Benjamin Wilson.

During his Christmas break, we had the opportunity to interview Benjamin Wilson, a UAHS 2016 graduate and current member of the Penn State University football team. During his time at UAHS, Ben was a part of the basketball, football, and track teams. He was awarded many “Senior Superlatives” such as best personality, best smile and most athletic by his senior peers. Ben attended Penn State Fayette, the Eberly Campus, for two years after high school. He currently is a junior at Penn State University Park.

Penn State proud to wear blue & white #84

Our interview consisted of questions about Ben’s athletic and academic journey through college and high school memories. We also had Ben react to throwback photos of Student of the Week, Track WPIAL Qualifiers, Snowball King and Newscast anchor. Ben was a member of the Tomahawk Talk online school newspaper and one of the first to produce news segments. While being on the field for football during high school, Ben also performed on the field in the marching band’s drumline. To our surprise, Ben remembered cadence, fight song & other drumline beats from his past memories of being a drumline member! Just to add a bit more excitement to the interview, we did Rapid Fire Questions with Ben. These are questions that he did not know he was being asked and he had to answer them on the spot.

Thank you Ben for coming back to visit. We appreciate your heart for our students and the role model that you are for them to aspire to. We wish you only the best as you complete your educational and athletic pursuits at Penn State!
