Class Rank

Do you know where your position stands in your class?  One way to find out is by recognizing your class rank.  It is determined at the end of every year by calculating your total Quality Points Accumulated.  A higher grade will bring more points. AP classes are also weighted more in the calculations.

Here is a list of grade values according to the UHS 2012-2013 Student Handbook:

  • A (AP)  X  5
  • A            X  4
  • B (AP)  X  4
  • B            X   3
  • C  (AP) X   3
  • C            X   2
  • D           X    1
  • F           X    0

Colleges take your class rank into consideration along with other items such as SAT or ACT scores.  A higher class rank may end up being beneficial to you when applying to college.  You can find out about your class rank and the best options for you from your guidance counselor.
