Geanna Hartman: EMT

Geanna Hartman

What was the title of your senior project?
Volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician.”

Please explain what you did for your project?
After I became an EMT, for 100 hours I volunteered as an EMT-B. I learned the basics of it, and learned more advanced life saving techniques and I also got to use them.”

What did you learn from this experience?
That life is short and you should make the most of every moment. I also learned that no two conditions of a patient are the same and you really have to know what your doing at critical times. I also learned that my passion in life is helping people.

What is your advice to underclassmen regarding their project?
To make sure your project is something you like and something worthwhile because if it is, it can be a great experience for you. Not just a “stupid project.”

What are your plans after graduation?
To attend a practical nursing program and obtain my nursing degree. Then go on further and get my Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.  And work as an EMT while doing so.
