How the Senior Project has Changed

Over the past couple of years, there have been quite a few changes to the senior project. It used to be a presentation that you had to present and be graded on. Students also had to create a poster boards or presentations with pictures. Students had to prepare for the presentation and practice public speaking. Some students found it to be stressful and nerve racking.

The way the senior project is done now is that it is more career based. It is more of an exit interview where you are asked questions such as what your plans after high school are and where you see yourself in five years. The advisers then talk with you about what you need to do in order to achieve that goal. They will also ask you questions such as if you plan on moving to another state or if you want stay in PA. If you are a student who attends the FCCTI, they will also ask you about the program you are in and what you do in that program. Also if you have a job, they may also ask you about that and what you do everyday at work. It’s very simple and much less stressful than the way they used to do it.
