PIC AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING STUDENTS:   On Thursday, March 21st, the Carnegie Science Center will be visiting the program for an interactive workshop.  Please confirm if you will be able to attend with Mrs. Lane or Mrs. Smith ASAP.

SENIOR PROJECTS OPPORTUNITIES:  How would you like to add Children’s Book Illustrator to your resume?  A local author is publishing a children’s book and needs help with illustrations.  This would be a great senior project.  See Mrs. Baker or Senior Project Idea Board in library for details.

DIGITAL PUBLSHING:  Tomahawk Talk is having two contests

  • March Madness Bracket Challenge
  • The Instagram Photo Contest

SENIORS:  The Uniontown Police Officers Association will be awarding a $250.00 scholarship to a Uniontown High School Student graduating this year and pursuing a career in law enforcement or the criminal justice field.  See Mrs. Marcinek for details.

SOFTBALL PLAYERS:  Penn State Fayette is having a softball recruiting event on Wednesday, March 20th from 5:00 to 7:00.  Details are in the office.

SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS, & SENIORS:  $200.00 Community Service Awards – turn in your hours by the end of the third quarter to Mrs. Golden.  Write it down, hand it in!  Sponsored by the Challenge Program. Forms are in the guidance office.

FRESHMEN:  Last call Fayette County CTI Field Trip permission slips.  No slips will be accepted after homeroom today.  The field trip is tomorrow!!!

BOOK FAIR:  Today is the last day for the online book fair.  All purchases benefit the library and books ship free to high school.  The link is posted on our home page.

JUNIOR & SENIOR CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS:  All are invited to an Athletic Open House Wednesday, March 20th at Penn State Fayette at 6:00 p.m.

ASVAB:  ASVAB results are in.  Please stop in guidance if; you took the test to get your results.

SADD DANCE:  The SADD club and any student at Uniontown High School is invited to attend the Spring Fling Dance.  The dance will be held at the Cabaret/Ivory Ballroom and the cost is $10.00.  The dance will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.  Any proceeds from the dance will benefit the SAD clubs at Uniontown, Laurel Highlands, Albert Gallatin High School and the Career Technical Institute.  Any student from Uniontown, Laurel Highlands, Albert Gallatin and CTI SADD clubs is welcomed to attend.

DUAL ENROLLMENT FIELD TRIP:  Sophomore & Junior students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible to explore Mt. Aloysius College on a field trip to Cresson, PA on April 25th. The day will include a tour and information on admissions, dual enrollment, and student life.  Permission slips are available in the guidance office and are due by April 4th. Space is limited.

FRESHMEN:   Fayette Career & Technical Institute is hosting a 9th Grade Exploratory Night on Wednesday, April 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. Students may explore 2 of 14 available programs. Refreshments will be provided. Sign-up early to be guaranteed a tee shirt.  An IPOD Touch & (2) IPOD NANO’s will be given away. Students are responsible for their own transportation; parents are welcome. Registration forms are available in the guidance office & are due by April 10th.
