Notable Natives: Tory Epps

Tory Epps  was  a  dominate  force  in  the  National  Football  League during  his  short  lived  five  year  career  leading  the  NFL  in  blocked  field  goals  for  his  first  few  years.  Tory  was  born  here  in  Uniontown,  Pennsylvania  on  May  28,  1967  and  sadly  passed  away  on  June  1,  2005  at  the  young  age  of  38  here  as  well.

Tory  went  to  Memphis  University  on  a  full  ride  for  football  and  excelled. This  lead  to  one  of  the  greatest  moments  in  his  life,  being  drafted.  He  was  drafted  by  the  Atlanta  Falcons  in  the  8th  round,  195th  overall,  of  the  1990  NFL  Draft.  Tory  Epps  recorded  207  tackles  and  5.5  sacks  throughout  his  entire  career  with  two  forced  fumbles  and  1  fumble  recovery.  Tory  has  started  in  22  games  in  the  NFL  and  has  played  in  70  games  overall.
