OCTOBER 19, 2012 – DAY 37

SENIORS:  Please pick up your pretzel rods in room 308 from Miss Carbonara.  All fundraisers help reduce the price of prom tickets.

SENIORS:  We are having a senior t-shirt design contest.  Turn your design into Miss Carbonara in 308 before November 2nd.  The winner will receive a free t-shirt.

STUDENT PICTURES:  9TH, 10TH, AND 11TH grade pictures will be on Friday, Oct. 26th. You will be called by homeroom.

ACADEMIC LEAGUE:  Congratulations to the academic league on their victories at Thursday’s competition at California University.  Both the varsity and the junior varsity teams won all of their matches.  Congratulations on an outstanding performance.

STUDENTS:  Want to go to Paris and Barcelona?  Meet in the art room, Tuesday, Oct. 23rd at 5:30 p.m.  The trip would be over winter break of next school year.  Parents are welcome to come to the meeting.

FOOTBALL:  Tickets for Friday’s varsity football game with Thomas Jefferson will be on sale in the main office Thursday & Friday.  Tickets are $1.00 if purchased in the office.  Adult tickets are $3.00.  All tickets at the game will be $3.00.  Remember if you donate a toy we will give you a free student admission.

STUDENTS:  The football boosters are selling Uniontown/Laurel Highlands Backyard Brawl t-shirts.  They are $10.00 n sale this week.  Buy a t-shirt and support the team!!  Order forms are available in the office today is the last day to order.

PSAT:  Students taking the PSAT should report to the high school cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 20th.  Upon check-in, you will be given your room assignment.  Please remember to bring your calculator, number 2 pencils and you student I.D. number.  The test should be over by 11:00 a.m.

WINTER SPORTS PHYSICALS:  Winter sports physicals will be on Oct. 29th at 8:30 a.m. in the health room.  All CIPPE forms or RECERT forms must be turned in to the nurse one week before the scheduled physical date.  Each page of these forms must be filled out completely and signed in the appropriate spaces. You may get the forms in the main office or from the nurse.

STUDENTS:  Next week is spirit week!!

  • Wednesday, famous duos – Edward & Bella, Kermit and miss piggy, be creative
  • Thursday, support cancer awareness, wear pink

There will be a pep rally!!!  Lets go raiders, beat those mustangs!!

JUNIORS:  Reminder to any junior who sold Sarris pretzels that money is due to Mrs. Crothers as soon as possible.  We still have more pretzels to sell.  If anyone is willing to support their class, stop in room 310 to pick up a box today.

FOOTBALL:  The varsity football team is sponsoring a toy drive.  Bring a toy to Friday’s football game with Thomas Jefferson and get a free student admission.

SENIOR NIGHT:  All parents who are participating in senior night should be in the stadium at 6:15.

ONE ACTS:  Sign up sheets for fall one acts are by Mr. Durso’s room (502) and the band room.  You must sign up by Wednesday.  Auditions are next Thursday after school in the auditorium.

JUNIOR SENIOR DANCE:  This years Junior/Senior dance “Hollywood Nights” is being held on Friday Nov. 16th at the Holiday Inn in Uniontown.  The cost of the tickets is $40.00 per person or $80.00 per couple.  Tickets will be sold Oct. 29th through November 2nd.  All students must have a completed permission slip PRIOR to purchasing a ticket.  Students taking someone that is not a Uniontown student must also have a guest request form filled out.  Both forms can be picked up in the office or in room 210.  You will not be permitted to purchase a ticket without them.  We will also be holding a PRE-ticket sale on Monday, Oct. 22nd and Tuesday Oct. 23rd.  Tickets purchased on these two days will only cost $35.00 each.  Tickets will only be sold during A and B lunches on the patio.  See Mrs. Crothers if you have any questions.
