OCTOBER 23, 2012 – DAY 39

Congratulations to the Math Team on the victory at the 1st competition. The entire team did a fantastic job.  Top scores for the team were Ricky Kim, Bennett Clark, Blaine Schiff, and Wyatt Wilson.

DISCOUNT TICKETS FOR JUNIOR SENIOR DANCE:   will only be on sale Today during A&B Lunches.  You must have permission slips filled out before you can buy a ticket.  Tickets will be sold again next week for full price.

Remember Friday October 26 is picture day.  1st and 2nd periods. 

ATTENTION STAFF & STUDENTS:  due to PSSA retests and the Friday Pep Rally, homeroom will be cancelled this week.

ATTENTION STUDENTS & FACULTY:  The Girls’ Volleyball Team will be playing their first round playoff match against Elizabeth Forward on Thursday.  The match will be at 6:00 p.m. at Bishop Canevin High School.  Hope to see you there.  GO RAIDERS!!!

JUNIORS:  Remember that this Friday is class shirt day.  Junior Class shirts are still available for  $5.00 in room 310.

RAIDERS!!  Do you have your Bonfire ticket???  We need people to sign up for the class tug-of-war and hot dog eating contest!!  You must have a ticket to get in the stadium.  See Mrs. Kriebel in Room 516 to sign up for games.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE HALLOWEEN DANCE???  The dance is next Tuesday night in the cafeteria from 7:00 to 10:00.  Guest forms can be picked up in room 308 or 516.  Get your Scare on!!!  There will be prizes for best costume!!  Tickets are $5.00 and will be on sale during lunches until Monday.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN:  The Invisible Children Club will meet on Wednesday, October 24 after school in the Art Room until 3:30.  We will watch the new documentary “Move” and discuss our trip to D.C. on November 17.

ART CLUB:  meeting on Thursday after school until 4:30 in the Art Room.

ASVAB TEST:  any grade 10,11,or 12 student who wishes to take the ASVAB Test should pick up a permission slip in the Guidance Office.  The test will be given on November 28th.

SOCCER:  All boys soccer team equipment is due to Mr. Yauger by Tuesday

STUDENTS:  Any student who wishes to be considered for the Community Service Award given by the Challenge Program should see Mrs. Golden today.  This is a money award for most hours served.  See Mrs. Golden today.

SENIORS:  Please pick up your pretzel rods in room 308 from Miss Carbonara.  All fundraisers help reduce the price of prom tickets.

SENIORS:  We are having a senior t-shirt design contest.  Turn your design into Miss Carbonara in 308 before November 2nd.  The winner will receive a free t-shirt.

STUDENT PICTURES:  9TH, 10TH, AND 11TH grade pictures will be on Friday, Oct. 26th. You will be called by homeroom.

STUDENTS:  Want to go to Paris and Barcelona?  Meet in the art room, Tuesday, Oct. 23rd at 5:30 p.m.  The trip would be over winter break of next school year.  Parents are welcome to come to the meeting.

WINTER SPORTS PHYSICALS:  Winter sports physicals will be on Oct. 29th at 8:30 a.m. in the health room.  All CIPPE forms or RECERT forms must be turned in to the nurse one week before the scheduled physical date.  Each page of these forms must be filled out completely and signed in the appropriate spaces. You may get the forms in the main office or from the nurse.

ONE ACTS:  Sign up sheets for fall one acts are by Mr. Durso’s room (502) and the band room.  You must sign up by Wednesday.  Auditions are next Thursday after school in the auditorium.

STUDENTS:  This week is spirit week!!

  • Wednesday, famous duos – Edward & Bella, Kermit and Miss Piggy, be creative
  • Thursday, support cancer awareness, wear pink
  • Friday show your school spirit

    2. juniors wear black
    3. sophomores wear maroon
    4. freshman wear gray

There will be a pep rally!!!  Lets go raiders, beat those mustangs!!

JUNIOR SENIOR DANCE:  This years Junior/Senior dance “Hollywood Nights” is being held on Friday Nov. 16th at the Holiday Inn in Uniontown.  The cost of the tickets is $40.00 per person or $80.00 per couple.  Tickets will be sold Oct. 29th through November 2nd.  All students must have a completed permission slip PRIOR to purchasing a ticket.  Students taking someone that is not a Uniontown student must also have a guest request form filled out.  Both forms can be picked up in the office or in room 210.  You will not be permitted to purchase a ticket without them.  We will also be holding a PRE-ticket sale on Monday, Oct. 22nd and Tuesday Oct. 23rd.  Tickets purchased on these two days will only cost $35.00 each.  Tickets will only be sold during A and B lunches on the patio.  See Mrs. Crothers if you have any questions.
