The series between the Penguins and the Rangers has been in the Pens favor for the most part. So far, Pittsburgh leads the series 3 games to 1. Just two days ago was when game 4 took place, and it was again another blowout. Game 3 was also a clear victory for the Pens, it looks like there’s no coming back for the Rangers if they keep this up.
Game 4 took place in PPG Paints Arena which also supported the Pens with a good crowd. The game started off in New York’s favor as they scored the first goal of the game. But that changed quickly, as Crosby scored on a power play evening the score. Starting in the second the Penguins got an early goal after missing off the post but sticking with it. Then, just about 24 seconds later Guentzel redirected the puck into the net to give the Pens a 3-1 lead. Soon after that Friedman scores to give Pittsburgh a 4-1 lead.
The Rangers tried to show some life as the puck hits off Matheson’s skate and into the net. But, it was an obvious victory for the Pens still as they scored another three goals before the game came to an end. The thing that really helped the Penguins that game was running out New York’s starting goalie Shesterkin out of the game early. The Pens ended up winning big, 7-2.
