Pirates Beat the Dodgers

The Pittsburgh Pirates played the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday May 12th. The Pirates beat the Dodgers 5-3. Beating the Dodgers puts the Pirates record at 13-17 and in 3rd place in their division. It was a slow game up until about the 6th inning when the Pirates had scored 3 runs.

In the bottom on the 6th inning Jack Suwinski homers to right field with a distance of 356 feet and made it 1-0. Later the the inning Josh VanMeter hits a homer to right center with a distance of 397 feet, also scoring Diego Castillo making the score 3-0. At the top of the 7th the Dodgers quickly answer with 3 runs to tie the game. Edwin Rios doubles with the bases loaded causing Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger, Chris Taylor to score and making it 3-3.

In the bottom of the 7th Daniel Vogelbach homers to right field with a distance of 407 feet making the score 4-3. Josh VanMeter triples in the bottom of the 8th Ben Gamel reaches on fielders choice causing Josh VanMeter to score making it 5-3. At the end of the game the Pirates had 5 runs, 8 hits, and 1 error. The Dodgers had 3 runs, 5 hits, and 0 errors. For once the Pirates are doing have decent hopefully they can keep up the good work.
