Pirates Lose a Close One

The Pirates lost a close one last night to the Rockies who they beat the previous night. They lost last night with a final score of 2-1 Rockies. The game even went into extra innings, where the Rockies were able to pull away with the win. This game was very close due to the play in the field. Rodolfo Castro had a sweet snag at the top of the 2nd for an easy out.

Then Cal Mitchell had his first ever MLB hit that resulted in an RBI to put the Pirates up 1-0 at the bottom of the 5th. but then Ryan McMahon of the Rockies hits a perfect one hop to centerfield for an RBI single that scored one runner to tie the game 1-1. And lastly Connor Joe of the Rockies hits a go-ahead single to score one runner in the top of the 10th.

To end out the game Daniel Bard throws a nice 2-seam fastball in the outside corner that Michael Chavis of the pirates’ grounds out to 3rd base to give the Rockies the win. Hopefully they can Redeem themselves this afternoon against the Rockies at home at 12:35pm. They need to get more than 5 hits this game to bring home the win. hopefully then can achieve this and we will be able to raise the Jolly Rodger in Victorious.
