The Pirates fell short to the Cardinals with a final score of 18-4. So it was a complete blowout, with our four runs scored in the 9th inning. The Pirates pitching is what killed them the most. The game starts out with Nolan Gorman’s RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. Next Tommy Edman’s had a big two-run double to take an 4-0 lead.
Then Brendan Donovan has a two-run double as well to make the game 7-0. Also Corey Dickerson had a two-run single to put them up 10-0. Then Albert Pujols hit a solo smash in the top of the 5th to make it 12-0. And in the top of the 9th Harrison Bader nails a two-run homer to make it 15-0. Lastly Albert Pujols Nails another ball over in the 9th for his second homer of the game and to make it 18-0.
But in the bottom of the 9th Yoshi Tsutsugo nails one to make it 18-1. Then Jack Suwinski nails a two-run homer to make it 18-4. Sadly that’s how the score stayed and our Pirates couldn’t hang with the Cardinals. Hopefully they can shake off that game and come ready to play tonight against the Rockies in Pittsburg.
