Raise the Jolly Roger

The Pirates won last night against the Colorado Rockies, they won with a final score of 2-1. The game starts out in the bottom of the first when Ke’Bryan Hayes nails a line drive to right field for an RBI double to put them up 1-0. In the top of the 4th, Randal Grichuk hit a grounder to the shortstop for a double play but they were able to score a runner to tie the game 1-1 in the top of the 4th.

There were a lot of great plays made all night to keep this game tight. Like Josh VanMeter’s diving stop and The point called back after review of the play. But then Yoshi Tsutsugo hit a go-ahead RBI to score one runner to make the game 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th. But to put the game away in the top of the 9th David Bednar Forces the finial out with a nice change up that Connor Joe pops up to the center fielder for the 3rd and final out of the game.

So this is exactly what the city of Pittsburg needed, a nice Monday night win from our boys in black and gold. Hopefully they can pull it off again tonight against the Rockies at 6:35pm. We are all hoping for another victory.
