For the 2013-14 school year, Uniontown High School will not be offering French as a language. Due to a recent hiring freeze, Uniontown High School cannot hire any more teachers than they already have. They are doing this to meet the budget. They also can only move teachers around where they need them.
For the 2013-14 school year, our French teacher, Mrs Thomas, will be teaching English instead of French. She said, “I feel bitter sweet. I like English, but my passion is French.” The French program was in its prime and the strongest and largest it’s been in years.
Students who need a foreign language will still have the option of taking Spanish (and no, English is NOT considered a foreign language. It only seems like one to many students!).
