Senior Project Showcase: Station 15

This year has been very eventful for the Station 15 Firehouse. With fires, to wrecks with entrapment, the fireman have been very busy. These last two months the engine and rescue company responded to 113 calls. They cover areas in Hopwood, Ohiopyle, Markleysburg, Bruceton, and Brandonville. They are all active members and full volunteers and have a very good group of well trained members. The station runs calls and mutual aid for our other departments who need help staffing stations. The last mutual aid run was for a structure fire with collapse in Bruceton.

The firehouse is expecting a new engine and potentially a new tanker. 15-2 is going to be replaced and taken out of service soon with a brand new 15-2 engine. The Rescue (Route 40 Express) is the newest truck in the fleet. They also received a new squad from Thurby Ford, its a 2021 Ford f-150 XLT crew cab.

Engine Co is the least busiest company since we very rarely have calls for fires. Our calls are usually for Squad and Rescue for wrecks or motor vehicle accidents. Our first due engine for fires is 15-2 and second due is 15-1. With the new 15-2 we will be able to be capable of getting more guys to the call and have more power and water flow. We have partnered with Rosenbaur Fire to have our chassis built by them to build our new truck. This new truck will give 125+ more horsepower to climb up 40 feet to any job we are called for. This will also give us more pump pressure for the hose lines.

Remember only you can prevent fires…
