Senior Spotlight: Grace Guthrie

Activities: My main hobby is competitive dancing, which I’ve been doing since I was three years old. I also enjoy being in the drama club, reading, cooking, and doing various types of artwork.

Fun Fact: One fun fact about me is that I’m obsessed with cats. This past year, I fostered one mother cat and three kittens, and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life.

Favorite Quote: One of my favorite quotes is from a song by my favorite singer, Brandi Carlile: “Follow your heart and see where it might take you. Don’t let the world outside there break you, they know not who you are inside.”

Favorite Highschool Memory: My favorite memory from high school is hands down participating in the one act plays. Mr. Durso is such a huge inspiration to me, and having a mentor like him to guide me through not only the plays, but life itself, is what has gotten me through the years.

Advice For Upcoming Seniors: I know it’s cliché, but those who are upcoming seniors must enjoy and savor each and every day. Time goes by so much faster than you’ll ever be prepared for, so immerse yourself fully into everything that you do and don’t hold back.

Future Plans: This fall, I plan to attend Washington & Jefferson and major in psychology, with a minor in neuroscience. Eventually, I strive to become a neuropsychologist and pursue a research-based career.

Shout Outs and Thank You’s: I could not have made it through these unusual past few years without such an amazing support system. I am incredibly grateful for my family and friends. I’d also like to give an extra shout out to Mrs. Rit, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Caruso, Mr. Durso, and the rest of the teachers and staff that have made my high school experience so extravagant. I could not thank you all enough.
