SEPTEMBER 28, 2012 – DAY 24

ART CLUB:  If you would like to participate in the mural painting at Nemacolin after school on Tuesday, Oct. 2nd get your permission slips signed and turned in to Mrs. Gartley ASAP.

STUDENTS:  Please do not walk in the grass when leaving the building.

SOPHOMORES, JUNIONS & SENIORS:  The Balfour Representative will be at school to take class ring orders the following date and times:

  • Thursday, Oct. 4th during all lunch periods and from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.  A $60.00 deposit is required and payment plans are available.  Additional packets are available in the office.  Don’t miss out on a Uniontown Tradition!

JUNIORS:  We are selling Sarris pretzels again and need you to help.  Students willing to sell please see Mrs. Crothers in room 310.  Top seller will receive a $50.00 gift card.

FRENCH CLUB OFFICERS:  You need to stop by and see Madame Thomas today.

JUNIOR CLASS:  Junior class t-shirts will be on sale during A & B lunch Oct. 1st thru Oct. 5.  The cost is $10.00.  Don’t be the only one without one.

ACADEMIC LEAGUE:  Great performance yesterday by the academic league.  The varsity won their match against Brownville and the junior varsity won their matches against Brownsville and Jefferson Morgan.  Nate Edenfield turned in a stellar performance the varsity team and Paul Klatt and Blain Schiff were the leaders for the junior varsity.

PSAT:  Students taking the P SAT on Oct. 20th please turn in your payment of $16.00 to Mrs. Bake by Oct. 5th.  If you think you qualify for a fee waiver, see Mrs. Baker ASAP.  Anyone who has not paid by Oct. 5 will not be able to take the test.

MATH TEAM:  The math team try out test will be administered during the extended homeroom on Oct. 4th in room 301.  If you are unable to take the exam on this day alternative dates are Tuesday, Oct. 2nd or Wed. Oct. 3 during lunches.  If you plan on taking the exam during lunch please make arrangements with Mrs. Vaccaro before hand.  Please note:  This is the only way to become a member of the math team you must take the placement exam on one of the three days offered.

BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS:  Big brothers/big sisters needs your help to mentor elementary students at Lafayette School.  This is a great opportunity to help a child and earn community service time.  If you would like to volunteer, see Mrs. Golden in the guidance office.

SADD:  Any student planning to join the SADD Club who is interested in participating in the Red Ribbon Walk is to see Mrs. Caromano for an application.  Student discounts are available until Oct. 10th.

PSAT:  The PSAT will be given here on Sat. Oct. 20th.  Any 10th or 11th grade student interested in taking the test should see Mrs. Baker in the library.  Space is limited and the fee is $16.00.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING:  Any student interested in after school tutoring please see Mrs. Lane in room 506 or Mrs. Smith in room 229 for an application.  Tutoring begins on Oct. 1st.  Snacks and transportation will be provided.
