Show Review: Cobra Kai

I’m sure we all know the popular 80s movie, The Karate Kid. Well did you know that there is a spin-off series on Netflix called Cobra Kai? Cobra Kai is a comedy-drama series that takes place 34 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. This show focuses on Johnny Lawrence, Daniel LaRusso’s high school rival. It started as a YouTube Red series until Netflix bought the rights to it.

I would rate this show a 10/10. Cobra Kai is funny, but also exciting. It’s one of those shows that you just can’t stop watching. The fight scenes are amazing and look very realistic. It has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 8.7 on IMDb.

The overall message of the show is that people can change. The main character, Johnny Lawrence, was a bully in high school. But if you watch the show, you can tell that he has grown as a person. He opened his own karate dojo so he could teach kids how to defend themselves from bullies.

So far, there is only 2 seasons available on Netflix, but the 3rd season is officially coming to Netflix in 2021. You can watch the season 3 trailer here:
