Ski Club

Do you enjoy skiing, or have you ever wanted to learn? You might be happy to know that Uniontown has a ski club. Skiing has been around as early as 600 B.C. but only became a competition in the year 1862. Skiing comes from the Old Norse word “skio” which means stick of wood.

Ski trips for Uniontown will be scheduled in mid December.  Chris Kovach said, “I am pretty stoked, we will be skiing at Seven Springs. The price for lift ticket is $15 and $13 for the bus. This is my sixth year in ski club.” If you do not own skis, Seven Springs will have them for you to rent. Sydney Green has been skiing since she was seven, and this will be her first year in ski club, so they’re always accepting new people, no matter what your skiing abilities may be.

Hannah Campbell has only been skiing for a few years and was asked what advice she has for new skiers. “One thing I would tell people wanting to ski is learn how to stop before taking on a hill.”

I hope this helped inform you about a few things on skiing. Maybe these people have inspired you to take it up ski club at Uniontown High School.
